The court case involving mixed martial arts fighter Joshua Allen has been adjourned to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions time to consider the matter. Independent.ie, the Irish Examiner, The Irish Sun, and the Sunday World all reported on October 8 that the case against the 26 year old was delayed in court. [1][2][3][4]
The Irish Examiner reported that Allen, who is the eldest son of television chef Rachel Allen, faces nine charges. These include allegations of driving a van at a garda, assaulting two garda#161, driving under the influence of cocaine and cannabis, and possessing ketamine and a knife. [2]
An issue arose in the proceedings after a new witness came forward to give a statement, according to the Irish Examiner. Allen was remanded on continuing bail until November 19, when the case is scheduled to return to court. [1][2]
