An Israeli air strike on a vehicle in Gaza City killed one person and injured several others on Tuesday, emergency services told Al Jazeera. The attack targeted the Tuffah neighbourhood in the northeastern area of the city. A four-year-old boy, Osama Ahmed Abed, also died in central Gaza from injuries sustained in an Israeli attack three weeks earlier, according to reporting by SANA and Wafa cited by Al Jazeera. [1][5]
Military operations and violence continued across the West Bank as well. Anadolu Ajansı and TRT World reported that Israeli forces injured Palestinians and detained dozens of people in military raids across the territory. Democracy Now! also reported that Israeli forces raided the offices of Palestinian non-governmental organizations. [2][3][4][5]
Violence in the region has persisted despite a ceasefire agreement. As FTMQ News reported earlier, recent Israeli air strikes on Khan Younis in southern Gaza killed up to three people. Al Jazeera reported that nearly two-thirds of Gaza remains under Israeli control one year into the ceasefire. [1][9]
The West Bank is a landlocked Palestinian territory located west of the Jordan River. It has been under Israeli occupation since 1967. According to Al Jazeera, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently vowed to maintain control over the West Bank. [1][6][8]
