The final Twenty20 International match between India and the West Indies ended in a draw on Saturday after rain stopped play in Bengaluru, Al Jazeera and Olympics both reported. The result leaves the five-match series tied at 2-2. [1][3]
The match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium started one hour and 45 minutes late because of weather conditions, according to Al Jazeera. Officials reduced the match to nine overs per side before play was halted. India reached 118-5 in 7.4 overs before rain returned and forced umpires to call off the game after just 48 minutes. [1]
During the shortened innings, Naman Dhir scored 24 runs off six balls for India, Al Jazeera reported. Umpires called off the match before even a five-overs-a-side game could be completed. [1]
India is a country in South Asia, while the West Indies is an island subregion of the Americas in the North Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the West Indies previously completed a record run chase against India in an October One Day International match, though India won that overall series. [4][5][7]
