The Environmental Protection Agency published its Air Quality in Ireland 2025 report on Thursday, showing generally good air quality across County Kerry. Radio Kerry reported that annual average levels of several pollutants measured at stations in Tralee and Killarney remained below required limits throughout 2025. [1]

Data gathered from Ireland's national network of 113 air monitoring stations demonstrates that pollutant levels across the country have fallen over the past 20 years, Radio Kerry said. At the Tralee Library monitoring station, the average recorded PM10 level was 15.1 micrograms per cubic metre in 2025. [1]

According to Radio Kerry, PM10 consists of tiny airborne particles that are produced by road traffic and the burning of solid fuels such as coal and turf. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Killarney is a popular tourist destination located in County Kerry. [1][2]
