The Denver Broncos defeated the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in overtime on Thursday night. According to Fox News and the New York Post, Denver kicker Wil Lutz secured the victory by converting a 53-yard field goal in sudden death. The kick followed an interception by Denver cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian. [1][6]

Seattle received the ball first in overtime before quarterback Sam Darnold threw an interception on third down from the Seattle 28-yard line. Fox News reported that McMillian stepped in front of the pass aimed into double coverage to set up Denver at the Seattle 43-yard line. Broncos head coach Sean Payton then called three consecutive running plays to position Lutz for the winning kick. [1]

The win follows a previous week victory for the Broncos against the Los Angeles Chargers, CBS Sports reported. Entering the game, the New York Post noted that Denver was averaging 19.4 points per game and held a 26th ranking in league scoring, while Seattle entered Thursday after a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. [2][3]

The Denver Broncos play in the American Football Conference West division, while the Seattle Seahawks compete in the National Football Conference West division. Denver holds three Super Bowl titles in franchise history. [13][14][15]
