Emergency services and Gardaí responded to a road traffic collision in the Rivertown area of Glanmire, County Cork, on Thursday afternoon. The Irish Examiner reported that a car was severely damaged after it was driven down the pedestrian steps in front of St Joseph's Church. [1]

The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. Officers closed the road around the scene and established local diversions. The Irish Examiner reported that officials have not yet released information regarding the condition of the occupants inside the vehicle. [1]

Glanmire is a suburban town situated roughly six kilometres east of Cork city centre and includes the area of Riverstown. The town was incorporated into the Cork City Council area in 2019. [5]
