Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to start on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, Fox News and CBS Sports reported. ESPN first reported the news of his return. The 24-year-old quarterback missed three games after suffering a hamstring injury against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 20, according to Fox News and CBS Sports. [1][2][8]

Williams returned to practice at full capacity this week and took reps with the starting unit, CBS Sports reported. Although he is officially listed as questionable for the Week 6 game, a full week of practice indicated he was progressing toward playing, CBS Sports noted. Fox News reported that his return remains subject to pregame warmups. [1][2]

Before his injury, Williams played in two games this season, including a 59-37 victory over the Carolina Panthers and a 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, CBS Sports reported. CBS Sports noted that he completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 407 yards across those appearances. [2]

Williams played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners and the USC Trojans, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022. As FTMQ News reported earlier, backup quarterback Tyson Bagent had been leading the Chicago offense while Williams recovered from his hamstring injury. [9][13]
