Dina Shawriah has resigned from her role as head of operations at luxury fashion label Bondi Born after facing hostile internal communications from founder Dale McCarthy, the Daily Mail reported. Shawriah quit her position two months after being hired in January on a reported salary package of nearly $150,000. [1]

Leaked communications revealed that McCarthy told Shawriah to use translation to her native language during an exchange, according to the Daily Mail. The founder also accused the senior executive of being passive aggressive and sent further critical text messages before ending one conversation with the phrase whatever Dina. [1]

Shawriah stated that she felt driven to resign after becoming overwhelmed by staffing shortages at the fashion company and facing repeated cutting remarks from McCarthy, the Daily Mail reported. The matter has been raised with Fair Work. [1]
